If you are looking for a holiday home or a rental apartment, then choosing your property in Los Cristianos is a sound property investment. One of Tenerife's more popular resorts for families and those looking for a quieter type of holiday, it is situated 15 km's west of the southern airport and is without a doubt one of the most popular resorts on the Canary Islands attracting thousands of visitors every year. Los Cristianos attracts a slightly more mature holidaymaker in comparison to its neighbouring resort of Playa de Las Americas.

Originally an old fishing village, Los Cristianos is now one of the well established tourist areas. Situated in a sheltered bay in the south of the island, the harbour is still the main focal point for the area. Having been a fishing port of great importance, due to its easy links to the other Islands of La Gomera, El Hierro and La Palma, which lie off Tenerife's west coast, colourful local boats and sea going yachts still remain, but over the last 20 years Los Cristianos has developed into a modern, thriving resort with many shops, cafes and restaurants. It is now a major town with an international flavour but it still somehow manages to retain a little of the original architecture and atmosphere of its fishing village origins.

The main beach in Los Cristianos is sheltered by the harbour and has calm waters and soft yellow sands while Las Vistas Beach is located on the next bay. Just five minutes from the town centre, Las Vistas Beach is one of the finest in Tenerife, with excellent facilities and breakwaters sheltering the golden sandy beach.

While these fabulous artificial white sand beaches are perfect for sunbathing and are also host to many water sports, along the beachfront there are lots of shops where you will find a huge variety of authentic Spanish products, as well as a vast array of international pubs, clubs, restaurants and bars. Los Cristianos has no shortage of places to eat and drink. The bars and restaurants line the promenade and town centre offering a wide variety of quality cuisine at prices that will be kind to your pocket. The busy town centre is closed to traffic and the pedestrian walks are bright and colourful, with dozens of open air restaurants and bars. Los Cristianos is the prime shopping centre for the south of Tenerife with a large selection of shops which cater for everyone. It's also worth noting that every Sunday there is a large market offering everything from watches and jewellery to clothing and music.

A wide, beautiful promenade runs along the full stretch of the resort, continuing for several miles into the heart of Playa de Las Americas. Nightlife in Los Cristianos is not rowdy, although the town does have a couple of discos. Most people tend to relax and watch the world go by from the many restaurants in the square opposite the harbour.
